Impact Group Invitation Letter
We are conscious that potential participants may need a little encouragement and a simple explanation of what they are signing up to by joining an Impact Group. Here is a standard letter that you can use to invite people to join your Impact Group. Feel free to reword it for your audience if you think that is necessary.
Dear _________,
If you are receiving this, you are part of a very select group of people who I am approaching in connection with the Lausanne Europe 2020 Conversation and Gathering.
Many of you will be familiar with the Lausanne Movement but, if not, this video does a good job of introducing it. This coming October in Poland, Lausanne are organising a gathering for 800 leaders from across Europe. There will be a balanced representation of men and women, young and not-so-young, church leaders and workplace Christians from every country of Europe, and from diaspora backgrounds too.
But Lausanne Europe want to open up the event to an even bigger constituency. As one of the delegates who will be in Poland in October, I am being encouraged to get together a group of people who I think would benefit from participating in the Conversation before the Gathering, reflecting on the crucial issues for mission in Europe today, contributing ideas, praying for Europe, and ultimately putting into practice some of the outcomes so that the Gathering makes an even bigger impact.
Would you be willing to be part of an Impact Group for Lausanne Europe 2020?
My group will meet, either in person or online, once a month for the nine months leading up to LE2020 and for the three months afterwards. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes. Over the months we will consider key themes of the conference, talk about discipleship and mobilisation for mission in Europe, look at the key Biblical text (Paul's Letter to the Philippians) and pray together.
So, does that sound like something you want to be part of? I think your voice would be an important contribution to the Conversation and that you would be able to make use of the insights of LE2020 in making an impact in your locality.
It is suggested that each group has around ten to twelve participants. And, just to reiterate, what you are committing to is to a 90-minute meeting once a month and perhaps another 30 mins or so to do the reading. I am going to suggest we meet up __________.
I look forward to hearing back from you,
